A regulation binds the VA. An individual Board decision does not. We show you which is which, so you know exactly what stands behind every recommendation, strongest first.

Persuasive / illustrative

Shows how the VA has decided before; does not bind a new claim

Individual Board of Veterans' Appeals (BVA) decisions. They reveal patterns and arguments that have worked, but each is non-precedential: a grant for another veteran does not guarantee yours.
